AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineer to be located in our Denver, CO office .
Roles & Responsibilities
Contribute to the design of regional dams and spillways
Generate conceptual layouts/designs and perform calculations/analyses for structures .
Perform quantity and cost estimates, and alternative assessments.
Preparing financial and schedule projections.
Contribute technical expertise to project drawings and designs.
Coordinate and integrate civil design with results from geotechnical, structural, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical designs.
Coordinate the development of engineering drawings and visual aids. Back check the drawing production and coordinate drawing development between the drafters and the discipline leads. Lead and document constructability and discipline reviews.
Responsible for the development of technical specifications
Develop tangible engineering design skills through field experience. This may include construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, contractor/owner engagement), site inspections, and geotechnical investigations.
Monitor Contractors’ activities and conformance with Contract Documents
Oversee the overall Quality Assurance for construction activities and work products
Have experience with MS Office (Excel, Word & Project), and SharePoint
Support all facets of construction including:
Contractor invoicing, including review, recommendation, tracking
Liaising between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Documenting processes and keeping detailed construction logs.
Presenting construction project progress updates to Clients, Owners, and Senior Management.
RFI/Submittal review, QA, tracking, and recommendations
Coordinate with local agencies and regulatory authorities
Support risk analysis/mitigation and lessons learned
Provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions.
Participate actively in client meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid driver’s license required.
State-approved professional engineering license.
Preferred Qualifications
Skills/Experience (Including any required Certifications):
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
15+ years' experience of providing construction oversight, quality assurance, and field engineering
Colorado PE
Advanced proficiency in construction management software.
Experience with developing technical specifications
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
Experience with geotechnical/geological investigation, evaluation, recommendations and construction
Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail with track record of high quality work products
Demonstrated strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
Strong personal safety awareness
Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility
Experience with and ability to make informed decisions regarding drilling, field investigations, and construction
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
Experience with field materials testing and soils and concrete laboratory testing
Experience with construction of heavy civil construction
Additional Information
Relocation is not available for this position.
Sponsorship may be available for existing US Employment Visa holders.
Regular project site travel is required.
Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000.
