This position will provide support to the engineering and design staff working on exciting and challenging facilities such as water treatment, transportation, laboratories, hospitals, federal, higher education and commercial projects. This position will have the opportunity to use drafting software to create 3D models of the electrical and technology systems supporting the operation of these facilities. Other software tools may be utilized to size the building systems and components. A strong interest in building information modeling (BIM) is required along with a desire to see the finished design product in successful operation. Incumbent will assist with the electrical design of lighting, power and technology systems for commercial and institutional facilities by drawing such systems in BIM.
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
Research and apply building code, regulatory and industry code requirements.
Prepare electrical design calculations, utilize electrical design software.
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or other related field
Must be a US Citizen
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, Revit,)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
