Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Municipal Water Practice Lead with a focus in drinking water, wastewater, or conveyance in our Denver, Colorado office. Your expertise as a Seller/Doer PM who can lead growth (and delivery) in our municipal practice with an emphasis on water and/or wastewater treatment and collections is critical. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to focus on a mix of key client business growth, project delivery leadership and the mentorship and development of engineering staff by leveraging top notch regional and national water/wastewater engineering expertise and capabilities to expand AECOM’s business within Colorado and our surrounding region.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work with senior members of our Water Business Line team to seek new municipal business opportunities.
Local expert on providing technical leadership in a specialty area.
Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs and applications.
Lead client related activities.
Participate in local community and industry related events.
Provide leadership and mentoring to local staff.
Communicate project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required.
Make presentations to clients and internally to staff.
Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives.
Determines and executes the strategic direction of the office(s) to ensure financial profitability.
Works in conjunction with the district and/or regional management to ensure financial success of the offices within the district or operating unit.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering plus 10 years of relevant experience with progressive experience as PE/PM in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design and construction or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Highly preferred Professional Engineering (PE) license in Colorado or the ability to obtain one within first 6 months of employment.
Experience working on municipal projects.
Experience working with local clients in the Colorado area for the water/wastewater industry is a plus.
Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $131,040.00 - $203,508.00.
