With recurrent project wins and a strong pipeline of work, we are seeking a motivated Senior Hydropower Project Manager to join our AECOM Dams and Hydropower Team.

The Hydropower and Dams Team is a center of technical excellence and often wins work purely on the strength of its people and its great reputation. By joining our team, you will get mentoring and guidance from our industry leading experts in the fields of geology, geotechnical, structural, hydraulics & hydrology, hydromechanical, and electrical design. You will get the opportunity to mentor technical staff and we will support your involvement in the hydropower industry.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Leading the conceptual to detailed design of hydropower and pumped storage projects

  • Perform as Capture Manager for pre-positioning and preparing proposals

  • Inspection, investigation, and condition assessment of existing hydropower and dams projects including review and surveillance of monitoring data.

  • Perform Alternatives Analyses, Feasibility Studies, and Detailed Designs with strong knowledge of design drawings and technical specifications.

  • Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs and applications.

  • Client liaison and experience with technical review boards.

  • Project management of multidisciplinary teams and the engagement of AECOM’s operations/finance teams.

  • Mentoring and technical development of junior staff, supporting them to achieve technical success.

  • Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.

  • Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid U.S Driver’s License is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • BA/BS degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical/Geotechnical Engineering

  • 15+ years or more of relevant experience with hydropower and pumped storage projects

  • Active participation in NHA, HydroVision, Clean Currents, CEATI, ASDSO, USSD, and/or ICOLD

  • PMP

  • Strong PM skills, ability to deliver multidisciplinary projects on schedule at the as-sold margin

  • Ability to effectively mentor Deputy PMs

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Business development for new and existing clients, prepare engineering services proposals, cost estimates, and schedules

  • Must be a resourceful, highly organized professional with attention to people

  • Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution

Additional Information

  • AECOM is interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States.

  • Occasional project travel may be required.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $220,000.00.
