Serve as a Discipline Representative
Ability to concisely express complex system solutions in very early design phases in order to share intent either internally for further development, or externally to assist design partners
Complete mechanical systems designs for projects of all sizes;
Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and judgement based on experience to design and construct HVAC and plumbing systems and equipment in buildings using building information modeling
Coordinate HVAC&P systems with other disciplines to produce complete building designs
Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff;
Plans design work, calculates costs, and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects;
Coordinates design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
Maintains accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files;
Acts as an adviser and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team members;
Evaluates project staffing requirements, analyzes problems, and writes reports;
Attends project meetings, or when appropriate, delegates activities;
Meets with clients, prepares proposals and presentations while maintaining good client relations;
Assists in project checking for quality control on other projects;
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans and drawings;
Ability to switch between work on multiple/different projects daily
Represents the organization and maintains liaison with individuals and related organizations
Self-motivated with strong work ethic and take pride in your work
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical Emphasis + 8 years of relevant experienceor demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Mechanical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm
Skill in the use of Microsoft programs and BIM software (primarily Revit and AutoCAD)
Documented experience with advanced design and diverse projects and clients
Experience with sustainable design
Laboratory, Federal, Water/Wastewater facility design experience
Experience with Design Build and other Alternative Delivery practices
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
Proven success in leading pursuits and managing long term clients
