Job Description

AECOM is eagerly seeking an innovative BIM Manager /Sr Transportation Engineer for Transportation in the US West Region, based out of Denver, CO. In this critical role, you will take charge of developing, advancing, and executing our strategy to establish a commanding presence in the digital transportation sector. This includes driving the expansion of our digital adoption and associated practice areas within the US West region transportation business line.

In alignment with AECOM's overarching global transportation and digital strategies, your role will be pivotal in nurturing and enhancing client relationships through cutting-edge BIM implementation and solutions, thereby significantly boosting AECOM's digital presence in the region. We are seeking someone who is not only an advocate for advancing BIM but also one who will deliver our projects.

In addition to BIM Management, we are seeking a leader in advance model concepts for Highways using both ORD and Civil 3D Packages. Serve as chief modeler on complex interstate and highway projects in the region.

  • Senior technical resource which will serve as technical advisor for the region.

  • Cultivate and consult on BIM practices, concentrating not just on team adoption but also on the strategic evolution of this essential business area.

  • Vigorously promote and broadening our client impact in the BIM4I Transportation domain

  • Lead the integration of a wide array of digital technologies, covering domains such as data analytics, AI, and remote service technologies.

  • Steer the practice towards new and innovative verticals, fostering the creation of a dynamic and versatile technological ecosystem.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members.

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and project progress.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovative transportation solutions.

  • Senior technical resource and technical advisor for the region.

  • Responsible for 3D modeling & mentoring new modeling staff.

  • Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications

  • Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager

  • Works with division digital leads to develop BIM4I implementation strategy & delivery for complex transportation (Bridge and Highway) projects.

  • Coordinate BIM4I execution & project delivery with project leadership

  • Conducts peer reviews and shares knowledge through internal technical presentations.

  • Technical Support – establish data integrated workflows for transportation projects & provide support, guidance & training to project teams.

  • Digital Technology & Content Management – oversee the production of smart object content, templates & component library in the context of the project, deploy the use of AECOM’s content management systems onto projects and manage the best practice use of digital technology for collaboration, coordination & delivery.

  • Quality – establish & administer the digital quality assurance control procedures.

  • Collaboration – be an ambassador for global-group-working with AECOM region project teams.

  • Serves as Lead Verifier on projects confirming that the technical approach satisfies the client scope of services and expectations.

  • Work with digital leads to drive the advancements and innovations of technology within the business.

  • Contributes on a regular basis to industry thought leadership through publications, social media, or speaking.

  • Externally recognized as a local or regional expert in one or more elements of technical discipline

  • Accountable for the results of the team and adherence to agreed upon budget.

  • Serves in a management capacity supervising and training others

  • Delivers effective communication inclusive of clients and team members to clarify expectations and requirements.

  • Develops technical strategy for proposals within area of expertise.

  • Identifies trends, issues, and opportunities for their area of the business, industry, service line or process.

  • Applies acquired expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges and provide coaching to peers and team members.

  • Recruits, trains, and evaluates less experienced staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science / Bachelors of Arts + 10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Design Technology or Construction Technology, or a related discipline project execution or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.

  • 10 years + of industry experience in Transportation Design (Highways), BIM and Digital Delivery field

  • Experience delivering BIM data for multidisciplinary civil infrastructure design from BIM software in one or more of the following software: Bentley: OpenBridge, OpenRoads, OpenRail, Rail Track, OpenBuildings, Generative Components, Audodesk: Civil 3D, Navisworks, Infraworks, Revit.

  • Expert knowledge in Design Review associated workflow in a digital twin platform.

  • Working knowledge of the design process of the various transportation disciplines, bridges, roads, rail, drainage & utilities, ports & marine.

  • Communication - Fluent in English (oral and written), a team player and mentor, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $125,000.00 - $160,000.00.
