Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Call Center Specialist / Dispatcher for a Traffic Monitoring Center to be based in Detroit and Mount Clemens, Michigan . There are opportunities for different work shifts, paid training for 6 weeks, and monetary incentive available for long term employees. Main responsibilities described below.

The main responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the roadways, including detecting, confirming, updating, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic events and congestion with ITS devices such as closed- circuit camera TV systems/ cameras, detectors, etc.

  • Act as an emergency dispatcher within a call center environment dispatching Freeway Courtesy Patrol via a two-way radio system to assist motorists, respond to events and other activities that require timely and efficient responses.

  • Perform data entry functions.

  • Ability to fluently work in multiple PC applications simultaneously.

  • Possess exceptional organizational skills to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in real time and in potentially stressful situations.

  • Possess exceptional communications skills both in written & verbal forms to effectively receive, document & relay information from numerous sources.

  • Use critical thinking and make decisions based upon circumstances.

Minimum Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma

  • Due to the nature of work US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of roadways and traffic patterns in the area

  • Prior experience with traffic monitoring or signaling

  • High level of detail orientation

  • Technical acumen

  • Strong customer service experience

  • Organized

  • Ability to multi-task

Additional information:

  • Six-week paid training to all new hires

  • Relocation assistance not available for this position

  • Operators will be required to work weekends, major holiday, and overnight shifts as and if assigned

  • Work performed in a call center environment

  • Monetary incentive to be paid after 90 days on the job, after training period
