Job Summary
AECOM’s is actively seeking a highly motivated Construction Engineer for immediate employment in Southfield, MI. This position provides the opportunity to work on large, unique, and complex transportation projects in Michigan and throughout the country.

Responsibilities:
Support project delivery by providing technical direction and guidance to staff, enforcing company and project policies, maintaining close client interface, and ensuring all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
Maintain communication between AECOM supervisors and peers, MDOT and local agency personnel, Contractor personnel and the general public.
Perform field inspections, take field measurements, and perform oversight of material testing on road and bridge construction projects.
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, and use judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Support strategy development, preparing proposals, and executing projects.
Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members and construction contractors.
Assist bridge/highway design disciplines with constructability questions/issues.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering 2 or more years of transportation construction related experience
Preferred Qualifications
5-8 years of project experience, including inspection and field support with local agencies, cities, counties and/or MDOT’s projects
Experience in client prepositioning activities and proposal development
Minimal travel may be required
Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan
Valid Driver’s License required
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
