Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Multi-Modal Transportation Project Planner​ to be based in Detroit, MI.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct planning and project development activities for multi-modal transportation planning projects, including corridor studies; transit plans; project feasibility studies; multi-modal enhancement strategies; policy and best-practice research; conceptual design studies; and grant funding applications.

  • Direct data collection activities and the synthesis of complex spatial and demographic data sets to support goal setting and transportation decision-making.

  • Collaborate directly with a diverse set of public-agency clients to create, adapt and successfully carry out planning project assignments.

  • Support development of compelling proposals for future planning assignments.

  • Manage and mentor professional colleagues in a diverse workplace.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS Planning, Engineering or related degree

  • 6 to 10 years of experience in planning and transportation projects

  • Technical background across a number of key specialty areas related to transportation planning, potentially including demographic/economic analyses, capital infrastructure planning, transit operations, traffic modeling, transportation safety analysis/audits, principles of street design, etc.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and teams, including subconsultants.

  • Experience with managing people at various experience levels and ability to mentor with their career development.

  • Experience with GIS

  • AICP certification

  • Offered rate of compensation (Michigan locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $75,000. - $110,000.
