Job Summary

Purpose and Scope:

Provides Electronic Warfare (EW) engineering sustainment and integration support for the Combined Tactical Training Ranges (CTTR). Must be familiar with military-fielded EW systems and demonstrate ability to solve complex engineering problems related to such equipment.

Provides engineering and configuration management support to ensure active systems and equipment remain operational and maintainable; inoperable systems and equipment are returned to an operational condition; and new or mothballed systems are brought to an operational and maintainable condition.

Essential Responsibilities:

Areas of knowledge should include radar theory, RF signal processing, power supplies, transmitter and receiver circuits, digital and analog signal processing, magnetrons, and test equipment. Operating experience with search, acquisition, ground control intercept, height finder or fire control radar systems, and familiarity with the employment of integrated air defense threat systems.

Provides project management for the design, planning, and integration of new and upgraded systems, networks, radios, radar and data transmission communications based engineering tasking. Provides system design, cost analysis, procurement, installation, configuration change, development, documentation, for integration of antenna and transmission systems.

Provides range system and communications support and engineering assistance for technical and configuration issues necessary to meet system, communications and network requirements. Areas of support include diagnosis and repair of data connectivity, instrumentation equipment and systems, electronic warfare and RF communication equipment to conform to industry standards and Government regulations.

Supports the Configuration Management (CM) program to include the evaluation and monitoring of all modifications to communications equipment of facilities, the generation of Change Requests to improve operability, reliability, maintainability, and ensures adherence to applicable CM standards.

Examines systems, facilities, plans and specifications to determine safe work procedure.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Routine travel to remote site facilities may be involved

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university. May substitute education requirement for relevant 8 years direct experience.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the following areas:

  • Experience with increasing levels of responsibility in complex electronic systems

  • Experience with search, acquisition, ground control intercept, height finder or fire control radar systems, and familiarity with the employment of threat systems

  • Technical experience in the following areas:

o Antennas and transmission systems

o Synchro-servo circuits

o RF and signal processing

o Electromechanical devices

o Optical equipment

o Video signal processing and recording

o High Voltage power supplies

o Test equipment

Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Must possess and maintain an active DoD Security clearance.

Minimum Position-Specific Training Required

  • Possess a valid state Driver’s License
