Job Summary

Purpose and Scope :

AECOM is seeking a Machinist for a full time position in Fort Campbell KY.

THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION.

Essential Responsibilities:

Machinist must also do general maintenance to equipment, and cleanup to maintain the work area in an orderly condition.

Machinist is responsible for the proper care and use of machine, material and equipment, as well as following instructions. The design and automatic features of these machines permit the operation of more than one machine or subsequent operations. Checks proper sizes, fits, and finishes as required and record results. Machinist is responsible for the orderliness of working areas and the following of approved shop procedures. All calibrated measuring tools are furnished.

Must set up, locate, or manufacture fixtures and work-holding devices, load and unload work fixtures and devices. Employee may be required to adjust cutting tools as required to maintain dimensions due to tool wear and reground tools. Employee will assemble tools and fixtures as needed.

Machinist also performs precision boring of complicated fabricated machine tool parts, jigs, dies and fixtures, used in production and tooling for manufacturing and assembly. This work must be very accurate with very little or no tolerance allowed generally +0.0000 to -0.0005. Machinist should require a minimum of supervision. Must be able to make set-ups and grind tools.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have experience with Omax water jet programming, set up, operating, and maintenance.

  • Must be familiar with Fagor, Haas, Okuma, and Funuc controllers.

  • Must be proficient with drawing on Master Cam and Bob Cad programming.

  • Must be able to read blueprints, spec, tech manuals, DMWRs, and be able to reverse engineer parts that have no drawings.

  • Must be proficient with heat treating all types of metals.

  • Candidates must be able to move parts anywhere within work area, as required. Machinist must also do general maintenance to equipment, and cleanup to maintain the work area in an orderly condition.

  • Must know shop mathematics, the characteristics of various metals and be able to secure certain information from prints as required.

  • Must be able to make set-ups and grind tools. Machinist must use proper feeds, speeds, coolant, or lubricant for the appropriate machining operation.

  • Machinist should require a minimum of supervision.

MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A NACI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aviation or aircraft maintenance experience strongly desired.

  • Military Experience is a plus, 5 years CNC experience desired.
