Job Description

AECOM is seeking a CEI Construction Project Engineer based in the Southwest Florida Area. Ideally located in Fort Myers or the surrounding area.

Responsibilities:

This is an excellent position for transportation project engineers to join AECOM CEI Construction Services. Projects are major roadway and bridge construction projects. Directs and assigns specific tasks to inspectors and assists in all phases of the construction projects. Will be responsible for the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration. The selected candidate will join a large successful CEI Construction team and offers an opportunity to be involved with multiple large heavy construction roadway and bridge construction projects. This position will participate in the roadway and highway reconstruction as part of the long-term Hurricane Ian recovery for Southwest Florida

  • Under general supervision, performs routine duties

  • Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications

  • Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work

  • Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design

  • Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting

  • May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • BS Civil Engineering or related field plus four (4) years of construction inspection with roadway and bridge construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Experience supervisoring construction inspectors as well as support staff

  • As a condition of employment, candidates will need to attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager Course and pass the examination. Additionally they will need to complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues Self-Study Course and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Florida

  • MS Civil Engineer

  • FDOT Advanced MOT certification

  • CTQP Final Estimates Level II
