Job Description

Senior Transportation Planner Manager

AECOM is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for a Senior Transportation Planner Manager to join our innovative and dynamic team in Franklin, TN. We’re looking for a creative and self-driven professional to lead our transportation planning group, overseeing a variety of impactful projects. This role is perfect for someone eager to market our capabilities to both existing and prospective clients, helping to grow our department.

You’ll be at the forefront of pioneering projects that utilize the latest technologies to enhance all forms of transportation. This hybrid position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and offers the chance to work with a highly technical team of planners, engineers, and technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight/support

  • Plan and manage tasks and team members

  • Coordinate with other disciplines

  • Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub-consultants in various assignments

  • Lead development efforts for the following types of projects:

  • Transportation corridor planning

  • Transit studies

  • Transportation Demand Management programs

  • Bicycle and pedestrian systems analysis

  • Community outreach

  • Natural resource planning

  • Economic development and housing studies

  • Land use and comprehensive planning

  • Policy analyses

  • Travel within Tennessee as required to serve the clients and projects; periodic travel to clients in other states may also be required

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Transportation Planning or a related field

  • 10 years of experience in transportation planning or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • A valid Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Transportation Planning or related field

  • 15+ years of experience in transportation planning

  • 5+ years of experience with the management of projects and people

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with community outreach techniques

  • Basic experience with GIS analysis

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $170,000.00.
