AECOM Database Developer in Germantown, Maryland

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Database Developer to be based in our Germantown, Maryland office. The successful candidate will support AECOM TechWorks in database development and data analytics, leveraging interdisciplinary techniques to extract knowledge and insights from data in various structured and unstructured forms. We're looking for someone to join our data team who is focused on designing, building and enhancing database systems for complex high-level reporting requirements for a wide variety of applications, This position is a work from home opportunity (with the potential to switch to an in-office position as conditions allow), with the expectation of working collaboratively with the team by utilizing Microsoft Teams, JIRA, Confluence and other collaboration and development tools.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree

  • 4 years’ experience

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience designing and implementing database solutions, experience developing and troubleshooting complex SQL statements, and have the ability to work in conjunction with application development teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work closely with application developers to ensure proper design and implementation of database systems

  • Participate in database architectural review and design discussions

  • Analyze complex data requirements - Must be strong in working with complex queries

  • Proven experience designing and developing scripts for ETL processes

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment. Collaborate with data analysts, developers, testers, managers and clients (internal and external)

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
