AECOM Senior Project Management Software Implementation Business Analyst in Germantown, Maryland

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Management Software Implementation Business Analyst to support the Adaptive Program Management Technologies team.

The home office will be Germantown, MD, but the position can be remote. The successful candidate supports our growing portfolio of projects that provide technology solutions to our client’s capital improvement programs. The Senior Business Analyst will work with clients to identify needs and design comprehensive solutions to meet those needs. This may include identifying commercial-off-the-shelf applications, developing custom software requirements for AECOM-built solutions, or architecting some combination of both. They will be responsible for leading implementation teams during the implementation of commercial project management information systems (PMIS) such as eBuilder, Kahua, Primavera Unifier, and others, as well as leading software development teams through the solution development lifecycle. The Business Analyst will translate design and construction program and project needs into system requirements and business process workflows to be implemented as part of the solution. The Business Analyst will use critical thinking and business analysis techniques to examine existing business processes and to make recommendations to improve those processes. The Business Analyst will lead the discovery, design, testing, implementation, training and rollout phases of the software implementation lifecycle. These projects vary in complexity and constraints providing an environment for career progression.

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Work closely with dynamic stakeholder teams to define and document as-is business processes, critical performance metrics, and program/project control requirements

  • Make recommendations for process improvements where possible

  • Translate documented requirements into system configurations, software business process workflows and reporting metrics (workflows, data dictionaries, use cases, reports, dashboards etc)

  • Lead software development and systems implementation efforts to include:

  • Design necessary data and systems integration requirements

  • Work within client acquired software platforms to implement business solution

  • Serve as a client representative when interacting with software vendors

  • Design, document and perform testing procedures for implemented solutions

  • Develop User Acceptance test cases and facilitate User Acceptance Testing with stakeholders

  • Develop supporting documentation (user guides, job aids, training materials, etc)

  • Develop and conduct stakeholder training

  • Provide technical assistance and support for implemented solutions

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in CS, Engineering, Construction Management, other technical field

  • 8+ years of professional software business analyst or project controls experience

  • Experience with commercial construction program management information systems (PMIS)

  • Experience applying project controls for construction projects

  • Proven knowledge of capital improvement program management and construction contract management

  • Ability to facilitate requirements gatherings and accurately document business process

  • Ability to assimilate client needs and translate them into software business requirements

  • MS Office including Visio and MS Project

  • While this is a 100% remote position, travel up to 25% - 50% may be required

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients orally and in writing

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization including senior managers and executives

  • Excellent organizational, time management and presentation skills

  • Ability to work alone as well as in dynamic and collaborative team environments

  • Demonstrated skills as a problem solver is highly preferred

  • Familiar with design, build construction processes

  • Understanding of basic accounting and financial reporting

  • Experience analyzing and writing business and system requirements documents

  • Previous use case development

  • Data analysis skills

  • Business Analysis Certification (CBPA, PMI-PBA, etc)

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (LSSBB)
