Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for New York, NY office. The Commissioning Engineer will support new construction building commissioning and existing building retro-commissioning projects. The qualified candidate shall have an engineering degree focused on Mechanical, Electrical, Construction or Architectural.
Job Summary
The candidate will interface daily with both design and construction professionals as well as clients, trade contractors, and facility managers. Position requires 50% onsite presence during the installation, startup, and functional testing of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Possess project specific knowledge of the program’s commissioning requirements as defined in the project specifications and commissioning plan
Assists in the development, coordination, and execution of the design phase, construction phase, testing/training phase, warranty phase activities, and final commissioning report
Establishes the scope, work plan and work schedule and ensures this is communicated to the Project staff and Department Managers
Ensure that programs are conducted within budget and on schedule
Perform commissioning reviews of construction documents
Attends and actively participates in project coordination meetings
Records and distributes commissioning coordination meeting minutes
Reviews shop drawings and equipment submittals
Develops Pre-functional Construction Checklists
Develops Functional Test Procedures
Performs Construction/Installation Observations
Evaluates equipment and building control/SCADA system installations with respect to contract documents and industry standards
Evaluates equipment and building control system installations with respect to the construction schedule
Provides detailed daily construction observation reports or as required when working on a project location
Assists in the Training of Facility Operators on Building Systems
Witnesses and reports on piping hydrostatic testing, duct air leakage testing
Witnesses Startup Procedures
Directs Functional Test Procedures
Assists in Troubleshooting
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering or Architecture, or demonstrated equivalency of experience
National Security Clearance
Experience in Technical Reading/Writing a must
Experience with Microsoft Office a must
Construction background

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $115,000.00.
