Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager to be based in Glen Allen, VA. The project manager shall be full-time during the duration of the project and have a background in electrical or LV power systems engineering,

Job Description

This person shall have experience in the management of design and construction contracts, submittal reviews, schedule reviews and the following:

  • Responsible for leading the project management team to deliver the warehouse expansion and assorted projects at the Richmond Mondelez facility

  • Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering a group of projects or one major project from conceptual stages through all phases of the projects, with the assistance of the project team

  • Responsible for overall performance of the project team and takes the lead in reporting and ensuring project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications

  • Reviews contracts, scope documents, and available data for the project, and establish schedules and budgets for compliance with project scope requirements and contract obligations

  • Takes leadership initiative in working with internal team members, and client departments including cost/scheduling, procurement, quality assurance, construction, contracts, legal, labor relations, finance, accounting and other services and departments as required to successfully manage projects

  • Provides an integrated project team approach in working with designers, contractors and governing agencies

  • Responsible for technical correctness of the scope. Reviews and comments on design submissions, change orders, and contracts/sub-contracts, and represent the client interests to verify control of and validate change orders are current, fair and efficiently processed

  • Reviews comments received from governing agencies on behalf of the client and coordinates timely resolutions

  • Responsible to proactively monitor critical project milestone dependencies, and track actions which may result in risks to critical project milestones

  • Coordinates communications, stakeholder contacts and maintains good working relationships

  • Monitors and controls contractual commitments to assure work being performed is in accordance with the specifications and terms of the contracts

  • Reviews builder submittals and RFI documents, and provides field surveillance to verify specified quality of design

  • Conducts project coordination and client meetings as necessary to review progress and discuss upcoming work

  • Works with stakeholders to negotiate and resolve conflicts, disputes, and potential claims on behalf of the client

  • Builds technical capability within the local plant engineering and M&R organization.

  • Engages with the corporate engineering team for strategic development of the site project portfolio.

  • Identifies opportunities to integrate maintenance activities into project execution windows.

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead site power outages as required for project execution

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management or Civil Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrations equivalency or experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • (10) years’ experience in electrical or LV power distribution project execution
