Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Roadway/Drainage Engineer for immediate employment in the Glen Allen, VA office. Our Glen Allen transportation team enjoys a number of challenging projects with a diverse group of clients which includes Federal, State, and Local Governments. Our projects are typically located in the Mid-Atlantic Region, with a primary focus in Virginia and Metro Washington, DC. Currently, our office is working on large multi-million dollar signature/marquee projects that will provide many growth opportunities for our employees.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the development of the following:

  • Roadway Horizontal and Vertical Alignments

  • Stormwater Management Plans

  • Maintenance of Traffic Plans

  • SWPPP’s and VPDES permits

  • Erosion and Sediment Control Plans

  • Design of storm sewer system and culverts

  • Design of open ditches

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Ability to work with: MicroStation and/or Autocad, open roads and/or Geopak, Google Earth Pro, Microsoft Office Products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training Certification

  • Certified Virginia DEQ Plan Reviewer

  • Ability to obtain P.E. within 2 years
