Job Summary

  • Fully qualified scientist. Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

  • Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.

  • Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

  • Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.

  • Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.

  • Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.

  • Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures. Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation.

  • Degree in science or related field required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related science degree

  • 4+ years of related experience

  • Must be able to work in a team environment; individually; and interact with other engineers, scientists, and administrative support

  • Experienced with environmental science principles, including site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, environmental chemistry, etc.

  • Tolerance for overnight travel and working some amount of the time in an outdoor environment

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/ clients are security sensitive

  • Must participate in and successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment fitness for duty questionnaire

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Candidate must be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination

  • 40-Hour Hazwoper Certificate/Training, with 8-Hour Refresher (current)

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of related experience

  • Strong Task and Field Management

  • PFAS related work preferred

  • Data Analysis

  • Financial Analysis

  • Integrity

  • First Aid/CPR Training

  • Lockout/Tagout Training

  • Fall Protection/Prevention Training/Competency

  • Confined Space Entry Training/Competency

  • Excavation/Trenching Training/Competency Fire Extinguisher Use/Inspection Training

  • HAZWOPER Supervisor (8-Hour) Certification
