Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs various responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.
Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.
Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
Supervises group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
7-10+ years progressive and successful highway and bridge construction project experience related to WisDOT, county or municipal client work.
Experience in being able to recognize opportunities for strategic growth and being able to build and lead teams to meet opportunities and proven capabilities with the following:
Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant teams and construction contractors
Works closely with other Construction Engineering Supervisors to promote statewide; project coverage, client representation, utilization of staff, and across all business lines CM/CE&I staff availability
Successfully develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and executes projects
Be a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients by promoting AECOM’s values both internally and externally
Directly manage projects and support staff in project development and delivery, including scoping, budgeting, contract negotiations and project execution
Experience in client prepositioning activities, team (internal and external partners) and proposal development
Construction management, inspection and field support experience with local agencies, cities, counties and/or WisDOT’s projects
Manages projects, provides technical direction and guidance to staff, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
Work independently and with other team members to complete WisDOT construction projects on time and within established budgets.
Assist Transportation design disciplines with constructability questions/issues
Participate in management meetings to report on construction management issues and opportunities
Familiarity with local and federal funding and CM/CE&I project development and delivery requirements
