Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer for the Surface Transportation department in Stevens Point, WI. Other potential locations for this position include Green Bay, Milwaukee, or Madison, WI.
Projects may include the design of urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, and multi-use paths. Some utility design may also be included.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Geometric design of roadways creating horizontal and vertical alignments and cross sections
Preparation of design reports including pavement design reports, design study reports, and technical memorandums
Coordination with project stakeholders including clients, the public, utility companies, and permitting agencies.
Plan preparation in accordance with WisDOT standards including erosion control, pavement marking, permanent signing, traffic control, plan and profiles, and cross sections
Calculate quantities and estimates for WisDOT and local transportation projects
Local marketing to build the AECOM brand in the local communities
Successful candidates will be based out of the Stevens Point, Green Bay, Milwaukee, or Middleton office and may from time to time travel during the day or evenings to project sites, client meetings, or other AECOM offices.
Successful candidates will be expected to work independently and in design teams to advance projects through the WisDOT process.
Knowledge of WisDOT and municipal standards for highway and other infrastructure design is required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Municipal utility design experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
5+ years of experience
A current P.E. license in the State of Wisconsin
WisDOT design experience
Experience preparing PS&E documents
Knowledge of agency/regulatory approval process
Successfully designing multiple projects and producing quality work under tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills experience
Stormwater and storm sewer design experience
