Job Summary

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

  • 2+ years of post-graduate engineering experience

  • Previous experience performing roadway design and production for transportation projects including calculations and plans preparation

  • Prior experience as roadway engineer on transportation projects

  • Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems

  • Experience in design software such as Microstation, Inroads, Autoturn, and equivalent CAD software

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and other MS Office products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in design of roadway geometrics and plans preparation in compliance with CDOT standards

  • Experience with interchange design or alternative project delivery projects

  • Engineering Intern registration

  • Ability to communicate effectively; verbal and written
