Job Summary

AECOM has a position available for an Air Quality Scientist / Engineer in Houston, TX. This is a perfect opportunity for a person who is ready to gain additional air quality analysis while pursuing a position in project management.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Provide air quality data analysis and management for several on-going air monitoring projects.

  • Lead development and delivery of project reports

  • Lead development and delivery of communication materials

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experience must include air quality data analysis, including application of statistical analysis software packages and/or experience conducting air quality research

  • Some outdoor field work required which may include working in inclement weather, walking long distances on uneven terrain and carrying equipment that may weigh up to 20 lbs

  • Sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree or PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering, a plus

  • Experience that includes machine learning techniques, performance and interpretation of results from photochemical modeling software, or conducting air quality research is desired

  • Validation of ambient air monitoring data

  • Experience with chromatography or spectroscopic sensing of atmospheric pollutants

  • Experience with community air monitoring, IOT air monitoring sensors, and air toxics measurement techniques

  • Experience analyzing large sets of environmental data

  • Previous science or engineering project management experience

  • Experience that includes demonstrated technical publication record communications including reports, peer reviewed publications, or conference proceedings is desired.

  • Previous consulting experience a plus

  • TWIC card a plus

  • R/Python experience preferred

  • CAMx knowledge or equivalent, a plus

  • Photo chemical modeling experience
