Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Construction Engineer to be based in Houston, Texas.
This position is expected to begin in August 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used
Verifying quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with engineering plans, specifications, estimates and applicable codes and regulations
Documenting deficiencies and deviations from plans
Communicating deficiencies with contractor personnel, AECOM staff, and clients
Assisting with construction administration and documentation duties
General office administration, including report reproduction, collation and deliveries
Reviewing and responding to shop drawings and other submittals
Responding to requests for information, clarifications, proposals, and change orders
Assisting with review and reconciliation of construction schedules
Scheduling updates and contractor payments
Observe testing and review test results for conformance with technical specifications
Calculating payment quantities for pay applications
Assisting with verification of project completion milestones and contract closeout
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related field + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of Civil Engineering experience
TxDOT experience preferred
Experience with SW3P
Ability to conduct field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used
Ability to verify quality of workmanship, and compliance with engineering plans, specifications, estimates and applicable codes and regulations; and documenting deficiencies and deviations from plans
Ability to provide general office administration, including preparing daily reports, change orders and payment quantity estimates
Excellent communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate construction issues with contractor, AECOM staff, and clients
Computer literacy and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly
