Job Description

AECOM’s rapidly growing ESG Advisory team is seeking experienced consultants with an industry reputation and a valued ESG network, to increase the depth and capacity of our sector and market insights for our key clients.

In this role, you will join our 40+ strong team of passionate and dedicated regional and global senior ESG advisers offering our clients the benefits of their experience addressing the risks and opportunities that a maturing ESG landscape provides.

Our ESG Advisory practice provides clients the insights and pragmatic solutions garnered from 20+ years of our passionate climate change and sustainable development teams around the world, connected through our virtual global network and digital solutions.

Our work covers the full range of services and solutions our clients require on their sustainability and net zero journeys. As an experienced adviser, you will be able to offer deep insights on one or more of the key challenges our teams are addressing, including:

  • Resilience and adaptation to accelerating climate impacts

  • Infrastructure decarbonization and energy transition

  • Portfolio decarbonization

  • Sustainable resource management and the circular economy

  • Land use optimization in the context of nature-based solutions and natural climate solutions

  • Creating social value and positive social impact across infrastructure development.

As a senior member of our ESG Advisory team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Growth : working with our O&G client account managers and marketing leads, to identify and realise ESG advisory opportunities, leading the capture of high-profile advisory work that will grow our portfolio and contribute to downstream strategic commissions

  • Project leadership : leading our ESG and sustainability teams to deliver for our O&G clients on secured ESG Advisory work and following up with insights for our key client account managers on pull-through work opportunities

  • Expertise : offering your technical expertise and industry knowledge to our business line leaders in O&G and to our marketing and communications teams, securing thought leadership and speaking opportunities that demonstrate your insights and experience across your career in O&G

  • Strategy : supporting the ESG Advisory practice lead and senior management with strategic support to grow the ESG Advisory business

  • Capacity : supporting the technical development of the ESG Advisory practice and bringing in additional recruits to the business while developing the career progression of colleagues to reach their full potential.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree plus 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/ or education, including 4 years of leadership.

  • Track record developing new ESG focused consultancy opportunities and writing winning proposals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree plus 15 years of experience.

  • Evidenced portfolio of projects where you have advised clients on ESG strategies and pathways that are supporting transition to a sustainable, low carbon future, including in roles as an internal consultant.

  • Robust understanding of the global ESG reporting ecosystem and disclosure standards including SASB, GRI, GRESB, TCFD, CDP, EcoVadis, the GHG Protocol and SBTi.

  • Financial acumen, allowing you to understand the market context of a clients ESG aspirations and offer solutions that support a viable business case.
