Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior GIS Specialist (water) to be based in Houston, Texas to support our Water Resources practice. In this role you will be leading a small team focusing primarily on GIS work related to FEMA Floodplain Management. Your proficiency with technical GIS work; task management; workload management; and client interaction will be crucial
Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Works under very minimal direction
Acts as senior GIS specialist who works on conventional practice but may handle complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional tools and difficult coordinations.
Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed work.
Independently responds to technical / administrative instructions on results expected.
Devises new approaches to problems and coordinates technical aspects of work.
Meets with clients to discuss topics, such as technical specifications, customized solutions and operational problems.
Participates in new business development efforts.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
- GIS work experience related to flood plain studies; FEMA flood plain management; or other water resources projects
Additional Information
Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation for Texas will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - 110,000.
