- AECOM’s Water Business Unit is actively seeking a creative, innovative, and highly motivated mid-level Municipal Water/ Wastewater Engineer for immediate employment in the Houston, Texas office. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful, and be decisive. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a career in design / engineering, specific to water and wastewater infrastructure engineering projects. The selected candidate will support AECOM’s water/wastewater business with a variety of primarily municipal clients in Houston and throughout the Gulf Coast Region.
The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for the following duties:
Technical lead for multi-disciplinary teams to undertake water and wastewater treatment and pumping projects.
Work with a project manager to implement the project including coordination with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestones.
Prepare technical memoranda, planning studies and final design calculations, plans and specifications;
Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures in preparation of deliverables..
Oversee construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents, on time and budget;
Ensure project work is undertaken in accordance with corporate health and safety policies and quality management systems
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience
Professional Engineer registration in Texas
Experience developing engineering deliverables such as engineering reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and other detailed engineering deliverables.
Knowledge of local codes, development processes, and utility regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Master’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or related field.
Experience managing water and/or wastewater pumping, treatment and conveyance projects
Experience working with clients in both the public and private sectors
