AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to be based in Hunt Valley, MD to work on various types project from aviation terminals and lighting to commercial and state/local government client facilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, technical specifications, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, cost estimates, detailed analyses and other materials suitable for construction purposes
Develop electrical power distribution and lighting design concepts with architects, engineers and owners
Prepare specifications, contract documents, and prepare engineering progress reports
Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design
elements for engineering works.
- Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Experience with the design of modifications to low voltage (480 V and below) electrical power systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities including office tenant space, utilities and support facilities - This includes preparation of electrical system load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, etc.
Switchgear, motor control center and medium voltage experience is helpful, but not required
5 + years of experience with buildings and facilities engineering with specific experience in the design of lighting design and power distribution
Experience with the design of lighting and lighting control systems for commercial, government and industrial facilities in accordance with energy code requirements (ASHRE 90.1 or IECC) including familiarity with lighting calculations, occupancy control, and application of state of the art materials to projects
Familiarity with the National Electric Code and other NFPA codes
AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
Microstation experience is helpful, but not required
Displayed ability to execute complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments on time and within budget
Understands overall project constraints including design/construction budget limitations and schedule requirements
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines
Effective written and verbal English communication skills
Must be able to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) registration
Working knowledge of electrical system analysis tools (E-TAP, SKM, etc) is helpful, but not required
Airfield and/or AGL experience is helpful, but not required
