Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Survey Project Manager who is experienced in both the field and office for our Hunt Valley, Maryland team. In this role, the ideal candidate will work independently with minimal direction and have a desire to learn and progress in the Survey profession by obtaining a Professional Land Surveyor license within a few years. Our Survey Team works on a wide variety of projects throughout Maryland and the surrounding States.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of Boundary, Right of Way, Topographic and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys under the supervision of a MD Professional land surveyor.

  • Independently conducting research, organizing documents, and analyzing deeds, plats, and reviewing title commitments.

  • Utilizing various Local, County, State and Quasi-Public databases for Geospatial data acquisition.

  • Assist Professional Land Surveyor with proposals and estimates.

  • Assist in training the crews to perform under AECOM and MDSHA Standards.

  • May from time to time perform field work as needed.

  • Field data processing including field-to-finish and should have the ability to review and process field data, including least squares traverse adjustments and importing points into CAD. Experience with Star*Net and Survnet is a plus, but not required.

  • This is not an entry level position. The ideal candidate will already have some office and field surveying experience and is on track to obtaining a Professional Land Surveyor license.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Surveying or related field plus four (4) years of relevant survey experience OR demonstrated equivalency of experience, training, and/or technical school.

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License, and as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient with and have at least three years of experience with Microstation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office programs

  • Experience with Microstation and Carlson Survey is a plus, but not required

  • Experience dealing with MDSHA, MTA, County Governments and following their standards

  • Must have good math and communication skills.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

  • Have experience working on point cloud data, including acquisition, registration, post-processing and QA-QC.

  • Experience with using Leica P50, Cyclone, and TopoDOT is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and a desire to learn and progress in the Survey profession, both personally and as part of a team

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $100,000.00.
