Shimmick Construction, an AECOM Co. is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for a Huntington Beach, CA WWT project. This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity to improve the infrastructure of the city.
The Quality Engineer responsibilities include attendance of weekly construction progress meetings, schedule and submittal related meetings, submittal preparation and review, all on-site and off-site scheduled inspections and tests, monthly schedule updates utilizing Primavera 6, and progress billings.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge to the completion of significant quality assignments.
Provides leadership for quality assurance and quality control support on assigned program(s) and/or areas to ensure that the project is procured and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.
Provides leadership for project specification and procedures implementation and any related quality activity.
Develops and applies advanced quality assurance/control theories, as well as research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems on the forefront of new technologies.
Analyzes, evaluates and plans methods of approach, as well as organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems.
Reviews project process and evaluates results.
Change Management administration.
Makes frequent decisions using principles and professional independent judgment.
Conducts investigations and tests that are of considerable complexity.
Provides technical consultation to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors.
Tracking of Non-Compliance Notices and provide solutions, to log and complete as-built drawings, and to work with the Owners inspection staff to find solutions on quality control issues.
Education and Experience:
BA/BS Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent + 6 YORE
Experience in construction work sequencing, productivity, preparation and maintenance of detailed construction schedules.
Change management experience
