Job Description
AECOM Water is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for our Indianapolis, Indiana office . The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles, and will be familiar with the design, construction, and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, preparation of technical memorandum, preparation of contract documents such as specifications and drawings.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Provides guidance to junior-level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Coordinates with other disciplines, sub-consultants, contractors and regulatory reviews.
Provide inspection of construction work to ensure compliance with the contract documents plans, including and specifications on active construction contracts.
Make measurements and observations of work being performed to ensure accurate quantities are tracked for completed work.
Engage with client on variety of project-related topics as appropriate.
Provide business development support and engagement with existing and prospective clients.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Indiana Professional Engineer (PE) License
4 Years of Water/Wastewater Treatment or Conveyance design experience
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams
Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Strong working knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
Participate as member of professional and technical societies
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00.
