Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a talented Senior Federal Project Manager for immediate employment in our Central Civil Works Department. In this role you will help manage our flood risk management design and construction projects for USACE, USIBWC, and NRCS. Our team has a passion for making a positive impact on community safety and developing solutions for the technical challenges these projects bring. Our projects include assessment, inspections, alternatives analysis, design, and construction of levees, floodwalls, floodgates, stormwater pump stations, riverbank and coastal erosion mitigation, ecosystem restoration, sediment diversion, wetland creation, and other related hydraulic projects. You will help us as we continue to build a Federal Project Management team in order to more effectively provide our federal clients with exceptional service.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Manages all phases of projects (from proposal to close-out).
Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
Strictly adheres to AECOM and federal/client quality control and safety planning and requirements.
Strictly adheres to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
Develops detailed subcontractor scopes and bid sheets, and follows the FAR in subcontractor selection process.
Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions with a strong understanding of the impact and implications of decisions.
Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
Advises/mentors less experienced staff on project management skills and mentors staff interested in project management as their Deputy Project Managers.
Oversees design staff and team members for civil works, flood risk reduction, and CSRM projects in completion of alternatives analysis, value engineering, plans, specifications, Design Documentation Reports, and Opinions of Probable Cost.
Identifies new business opportunities for AECOM, coordinates and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, promotes AECOM’s capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients, and assists in the technical write ups and strategies for TORN responses and Statements of Qualifications for MATOC/SATOC/IDIQ/IDC pursuits.
Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
Monitors and reports financial status of projects to upper management.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid Driver’s License that allows you to drive during the course of your employment
US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications
20+ years of professional experience, 10+ of those years as a project manager or deputy project manager for large, complex federal projects.
Experience as a Project Manager for USACE projects related to flood risk management is a strong priority/focus of this role. Experience with these projects and client will be looked at as a positive.
Professional Engineer License in Texas or ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment
Strong understanding of civil works, flood risk mitigation, and coastal storm risk management projects to drive technical and logistical solutions for our clients.
Strong understanding of the FAR and demonstrated experience following the FAR when subcontracting.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills.
Experience in project team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.
Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.
Experience and interest in business development.
Experience leading multi-discipline teams of professionals in executing site investigations and developing plans, specifications, DDRs, and OPC
Previous experience working in a PMO is a plus.
Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $210,000.00.
