Job Description
The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water/Wastewater Project Manager/Technical Leader , who will also serve as a Client Services Manager, with a focus in water/wastewater infrastructure design, with in-depth design engineering experience in municipal projects in our Jacksonville office. This role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity to focus on a mix of client business growth, project delivery leadership and mentoring of developing engineering staff by leveraging top notch regional and national water/wastewater engineering expertise and capabilities to expand AECOM’s Jacksonville area business. The appropriately qualified applicant will be a seller/doer and have the opportunity to manage and work with an established team of professional engineers on a variety of water, wastewater, and storm water design projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work with senior members of our Water Business Line team to seek new municipal business opportunities
Manages projects, including scoping, task management, invoicing and final closeout. Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work of a major project, or several small-moderate scope projects
Supervises and mentors junior staff
Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services and will include activities focused on design of municipal water/wastewater projects
Communicates project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required.
Makes technical presentations
Responsibilities may include overseeing the planning and design of various project elements, the preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverables
Overseeing construction phase engineering services
Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related degree or equivalency of experience and/or education
Six (6) years of related experience, with progressive experience as PE/PM in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design
Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully manage diverse teams
Minimum 4 years of project management experience including delivering projects successfully, on time and on budget
Demonstrated experience in leading/conducting business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and serving as project manager on project deliveries
A proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully managing water and wastewater projects, resulting in securing additional projects from clients
Preferred Qualifications:
Eight (8) years of progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design
Five (5) years’ experience working in the Jacksonville area for water/wastewater/stormwater utilities is highly preferred
Experience in managing and/or delivering projects by “alternative delivery” approaches a plus
Licensed Professional Engineer, or the ability to meet the minimum criteria to obtain Professional Engineer registration in the State of Fla within 1 year of employment date
Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience
Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals
Experience in preparation of engineering proposals for submission to clients
