Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Inspector to join our team in Kailua Kona, HI. The Inspector will support transportation related projects (highways, airports, rail, etc.). Most projects are night work, with a 10 PM to 6 AM schedule.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs construction administration and construction inspection.

  • Uses past experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals and solve problems in the field as they arise.

  • Responsible for monitoring deadlines, overseeing and coordinating project testing, and coordinating work with the Contractor.

  • Responsible for relaying major problems that affect cost/scope to the Project Engineer.

  • Facilitate the construction management of the project through coordination with the Project Manager, Design Team, Contractor, and Owner.

  • Tracks quantities and work progress utilizing field measurements.

  • Travel to airport project sites (expected 90%+ field work)

  • Prepares and interprets construction specifications for airport development projects per FAA Advisory Circular 150/5370-10 and State requirements.

  • Prepares reports, schedules, and quantity takeoffs.

  • Collects and analyzes data to support construction phases of projects.

  • Collaborates with other airport/civil engineering, architectural, and engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, Utility companies, permitting agencies, contractors, government and regulatory agencies, and clients.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus a minimum of 6 years related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Ability to pass Federal background and criminal investigation checks in order to obtain Airport identification badges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in both an office and field (construction) environment for extended working hours

  • Read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $31.00/hour - $46.00/hour.
