AECOM Environmental Engineer in Latham, New York

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Engineering III for employment in Latham, New York office to support diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.

We are seeking candidates who will be able to contribute to the successful delivery of existing projects and support the Team Leader to promote growth in existing and new markets. This candidate will assume leadership roles on projects within the department, and will develop strong relationships with the team, and with clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities.

This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills.

The responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development of site/civil and environmental design projects, including developing grading, drainage, and stormwater management

  • Prepare and review engineering related calculations and develop high-quality technical reports, design drawings and specifications

  • Independently develop solutions for technical problems

  • Be able to serve as a task manager on larger projects, or as a project manager on smaller projects

  • Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions

  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings

  • Assist with development of junior staff through ongoing mentoring

  • Travel to job sites and meetings within the local area and the region

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, civil, or environmental engineering

  • With 4 years of relevant experience in an environmental engineering consulting company, and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification

  • Valid Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer license

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with clients and coordinate among multidiscipline design teams

  • Experience in developing site/civil plans and drawings, including advanced experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D: Create Civil 3D surfaces and grading; Process and evaluate raw survey data

  • Experience in developing: excavation/shoring designs; developing remedial investigations (including soil boring and testing plans); remedial alternative analysis; and work plans

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications
