Job Summary

The construction group of AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Laborer for immediate employment in the Upstate New York area.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Performs a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities.

  • Duties may differ depending on the specialty area.

  • Activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of a structure or roadway.

  • Relies on general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish moderate goals.

  • Works under direct supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 2+ Years Of relevant experience.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, moist, dry, dust, noise, chemicals, radiation, and vibration; position requires frequent operation of vehicles, including heavy moving, or dangerous equipment, and working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment; often, lifting of less than 25 pounds; occasionally working with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending & stooping, standing/walking, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), working at heights, climbing stairs, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, work in confined spaces, repetitive or fine hand movements, and lifting of 25-50 pounds; rarely performing work on electrical circuits, performing keyboard/mouse operations, working alone in isolated/remote areas, and lifting of 50-75 pounds. Position will include wearing all associated personal protective equipment, including fall, hearing, and respiratory protection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience.

  • In site stabilization, MGP, dredging, construction oversight, PCB’s, landfill capping, demolition.
