AECOM Construction Health & Safety Coordinator in Lima, Peru

Job Summary

AECOM Peru seeks a Construction Health & Safety Coordinator to support the oversight of Health & Safety protocols and practices on the Lima Airport construction project. This position will play an important role in supporting all Health & Safety activities managed and directed by the Project leadership team.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement the review program for SHE compliance of all project contractors according to LAP standards.

  • Implement field safety evaluation system for all health and safety aspects for all activities carried out during the execution of the project.

  • Verification of implementation of policies, guidelines, SHE standards, protocols, plans, programs and SHE procedures of LAP by the contractors.

  • Conduct health, safety and environment evaluations of contractor activities

  • Coordinate and verify the execution of health, safety and environmental inspections in different areas of the project. Verify the follow-up of the required improvement actions.

  • Review and verify all entry documentation for contractors, personnel, vehicles, machinery and equipment according to LAP SHE requirements.

  • Review and monitor the implementation of health and safety plans of project contractors.

  • Assist with accident investigations carried out by the contractors and assist in communicating all lessons learned with project staff.

  • Monitoring and verification of implementation of emergency response plans by all contractors.

  • Represent AECOM in the health and safety meetings scheduled with LAP and its contractors.

  • Complete SHE performance evaluations of project contractors and report to LAP.

  • Execute SHE inductions for contractors and visitors in accordance with the guidelines and material provided by LAP.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree + 6 years of relevant experience in construction services.

  • Bilingual (English).

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 (or equivalent) – Construction Safety course completion, additional training in electrical safety, vertical construction, LOTO, lifting loads.

  • Experience in ES&H programs on large, specialized, complex project or multiple projects

  • Advanced knowledge in Peruvian SHE legislation
