Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly-talented Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong instrumentation background for employment in the

Morrilton, AR area.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in electrical engineering specific to capital projects in industrial facilities (pulp and paper, chemical, oil and gas). The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion for assigned projects with adherence to the requirements, applicable codes and design criteria established by the project’s discipline engineering.

Project types include new construction, renovations, and restoration with varying degrees of complexities and challenges. Candidate will be responsible for all facets of instrumentation/electrical design needed (control valves, flow meters, level controls, variable frequency drives, and other process instrumentation, as well as, low and medium voltage electrical design).

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Perform design calculations including lighting illumination, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations

Assist with multiple and fast-paced projects with support staff for projects 4160V and below

Assist with creating and updating schedule and budget for multiple projects

Development of one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding, area class, lighting, lightning protection, cable tray, underground conduits, PLC panels, junction boxes, and other areas of design

Assist in calculation for sizing cables, conduits and cable tray

Provide design and system planning for building electrical systems

Responsible for preparing specifications, data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid summaries for instrumentation and controls equipment and devices

Prepare construction packages including deliverables such as wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and instrument installation details

Coordinate with drafters, designers, and engineers assigned to the project and review work progress.

Create P&IDs, control logic diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, functional requirements documents, and control narratives

Coordinate projects with other disciplines and the project manager

Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD/Revit

Review construction documents such as shop drawings, respond to contractor requests, attend construction meetings

Minimum Requirements

B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Arkansas driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional engineering licensure. Proficient in AutoCad 2010 (or higher), Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
