Job Description

AECOM has an outstanding opportunity for a project level engineer based in Long Beach, Orange or Los Angeles offices. This position will work with licensed engineers on challenging projects with career growth opportunities. You will work in a supportive environment under the direction of a California PE with responsibilities for field and office duties, including the following:

•Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Draft and request design edits to remediation equipment and systems.

  • Proposes an approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry-level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete the primary design

elements for engineering works.

  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • BS in Environmental Engineering or related field. and or 4 years of relevant environmental experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience.

  • Valid Driver's license.

  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA

  • P.E. License for California or able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-hour annual refresher certification.

  • Ability to assist with the preparation of cost estimates for various remediation plans and remediation activities.

  • Experience with response and environmental investigations and through site clean-up and closure.

  • Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.

  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.

  • Positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.

  • CAD and design experience a plus.

  • Strong technical report writing skills and the ability to develop design specifications.

  • Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs; Microsoft Suite Programs.

  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour Construction Safety and Health certificate

Additional Information

Salary

Offered rate of compensation for California only will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000.
