AECOM Safety, Health & Environment Site Officer in Long Beach, California
AECOM is actively seeking a responsive, organized, detailed orientated SH&E Site Officer for immediate employment in our Orange or Long Beach, CA offices. This position works as a member of a dynamic team providing support to operations throughout southern CA. The SH&E Site Officer must be able to quickly learn and adapt to new situations and challenges, make assessments about resources needed and assist operations managers in successfully delivering safe and healthy work. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Successfully influence and inspire others to work safely and effectively
Form trusted relationships with clients, subcontractors and consultants
Perform in a fast paced, highly dynamic work environment, prioritize appropriately, and be highly responsive
Work productively with all levels of the organization including field technicians, engineers, scientists, senior managers and executives
Under direct supervision, implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with health and safety requirements of the organization.
Provides technical leadership and functional guidance to ensure regulatory standards are being enforced.
Ensures that quality control procedures are executed to monitor all aspects of regulations.
Coordinates audits of health and safety programs within the organization.
Assists in the development and conducts basic health, safety and environment (HSE) training to employees.
Communicates programs to enhance employee awareness of prevention and compliance.
May administer a HSE program on a small to medium sized, specialized, project or multiple projects.
Prepares reports and recommends corrective action.
Travel with occasional overnight stays will be required and may account for up to 25% of time

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering, or other relevant subject.
4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
40 Hr OSHA HAZWOPER training
Valid driver’s license required
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Experience diffusing escalating situations, managing change, and remaining objective in the face of varying opinions, accounts and influences
Experience or demonstrated knowledge of Federal OSHA, USEPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements
Must be able to motivate others, build teams and maintain forward thinking approach
Knowledge or experience managing environmental compliance (RCRA, DOT, HAZCOM, etc)
Experience preferable in the transportation, energy/power, and civil/heavy construction projects
