Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Industrial Stormwater/Wastewater Engineer. This individual will be a member of AECOM's EHS & Air West team. This is a remote based role.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, review, and analyze water quality policy and regulations.

  • Lead regulatory compliance tasks relating to stormwater and wastewater management.

  • Prepare and review Water Quality Management Plans, which communicate stormwater and wastewater regulations affecting the management of water sources at a facility.

  • Prepare and review Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).

  • Review and assess compliance methodologies employed at a facility and provide feedback and creative solutions to reduce overall risk of non-compliance.

  • Mentor and supervise junior staff while managing tasks of varying sizes and complexity.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education focused on water quality compliance.

  • Nationwide travel (50% of the time)

  • A valid Driver's license is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of engineering experience focused on water quality compliance.

  • P.E. license is highly desired for this role.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that implement the Clean Water Act.

  • Experience reviewing and/or writing Spill Prevention Countermeasure Control (SPCC) Plans

  • Mentorship Experience

  • Experience consulting DOD clients

  • Strong writing, critical thinking, and reasoning skills.

  • Basic knowledge of ArcGIS and AutoCAD software.

  • Knowledge of DOD management practices as they relate to environmental compliance.

  • Strong focus and attention to detail

Additional Information

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $130,000.00.
