Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Alternative Delivery for this exciting opportunity to oversee the long-term management and growth of our Federal Design-Build portfolio. This role can be based in any of our B+P offices. The selected candidate will help lead an existing portfolio of large capacity multi-year contracts, work with business line leadership to develop and lead a dedicated project management team, oversee multiple project task orders from an executive level, develop and track pipeline and lead coordination with external delivery partners.
Required responsibilities for the Regional Director of Alternative Delivery include a proven track record of:
Managing and leading federal projects and programs for Federal clients, including U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering System Command (NAVFAC), General Services Administration (GSA), and other agencies.
Experience building and leading successful architecture/engineering design teams.
Successful collaboration with General Contractor partners.
Managing and directing professional and technical staff to complete complex architectural and engineering projects.
Help lead development and negotiations of teaming agreements with Alternative Delivery prime contractors and subconsultants.
Assist with development of scope, schedule and fee proposals.
Develop and nurture relationships with key alternative delivery partners, including builders, Government clients, and key subconsultants.
Achieving contractual performance and financial milestones across the lifespan of multiyear / multitask order contracts.
Manages aspects of a program such as oversight of project managers, oversight of project controls or similar.
Provides direction and oversight to AECOM staff and subcontractors.
Generally has task and project management experience, including successful completion of several large projects.
Collaboration with Business Line leadership, Risk Committees, Program/Project Managers to ensure team is prepared to execute and deliver pre-award requirements.
Work with Market Sector Leadership to develop alternative delivery strategy as part of the overall Federal Market strategy.
Federal market business development, including identifying alternative delivery opportunities, building relationships with general contractors, and mining existing programs/IDIQs.
Design management for alternative delivery project pursuits – Progressive Design-Build, Design-Build Competition (Stip Sum, MAC, or CCL)
Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Leads integration of risk/change management processes during delivery, including claims management.
Ensure that project controls measures are implemented. Schedule and conduct periodic project reviews to oversee and facilitate successful project delivery performance.
May serve as design manager on select large or complex assignments.
Lead or assist with dispute resolution, claims, and other conflict management issues.
Facilitate planning activities, assist with fee development, profitability analysis, cash management, quality management, and risk/change management.
Assists with guiding conceptual cost estimating
Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to internal regional and Buildings + Places management
Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Oversee and develop technical approaches and cost estimates for proposals
Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
Prepare, coordinate and conduct project meeting: Prepare and maintain the agenda and the meeting minutes
Help develop and maintain project schedule, project budget and risk register
Review Design Documents and Coordinate Design reviews with various stakeholders
Manages more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar.
Increasing responsibility for leadership of direct reports.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or related field + 10 years of experience delivering various forms of alternative deliver (Design-Build, Early Contract Involvement, Integrated Design and Construction, Construction Manager at Risk, etc.) or relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
DBIA Certification
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of related experience
Graduate Degree in an Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management field
Licensed PE or RA
Participation on industry organization (DBIA, CMAA, etc.) committees and boards.
FDBIA (Fellow) Certification
Ability to work in Fast-paced environment and Coordinate with multiple stakeholders
Ability to communicate at a high level with senior leaders within AECOM and/or the client's

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $180,000.00 - $230,000.00.
