AECOM Sr. Analyst, Technology Business Management in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Analyst for Technology Business Management for our IT department. He/she will be a direct report of the Vice President, Business of IT. The Sr. Analyst will work closely with IT team members and business stakeholders to optimize and demonstrate the business value of IT assets and services.

The Sr. Analyst of TBM will be responsible for process improvement, data analysis and reporting, and implementation of internal IT programs to drive efficiencies, improve the delivery of services and deliver optimal end user experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, an understanding of the various dimensions of corporate technology services, strong analytical and communication skills, and an inquisitive nature. This position is strategic and offers opportunities for growth and development.

This is a remote based position and can be filled in a variety of locations in the United States or the United Kingdom.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Asset Management– AECOM manages a diverse portfolio of technology assets globally that are maintained in multiple data sources. This role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of asset management data by leading and managing sustainable programs that engage stakeholders to provide and maintain required information.

  • Data Management – AECOM uses multiple systems that are supported by various groups to manage IT vendor and financial data. This information has the opportunity to improve our ability to optimize spend and performance and provide a multi-faceted understanding of IT investments. This role will be responsible for working with internal stakeholders to ensure that the end to end processes and systems supporting financial information provide the data needed to support decision making.

  • User Experience – AECOM IT offers end user experiences that include employees as workers and stakeholders that support the delivery of IT services. This role will be responsible for collaborating with IT and business partners to ensure that all user experiences are identified, clearly defined, and that the processes, systems and communications enabling those experiences produce the best results. This includes optimizing automation tools such as App Store and facilitating the delivery of training sessions, recurring reports, etc.

  • Analysis and Reporting – This role will be responsible for understanding and aggregating multiple data sources to produce a variety of informed, data driven and visual reports to communicate the state of IT. This includes but is not limited to basic tracking/monitoring, performance and value.

  • Special Projects – This role will be responsible for delivering projects to achieve Business of IT objectives as required. This person may represent IT in various forums to support enterprise wide objectives.

  • Problem Solving – Problem solving is a day to day skill needed to be successful in this role. You’ll be a key player involved in identifying, analyzing root cause and developing solutions.

  • Experience using enterprise collaboration tools effectively

Level specific responsibilities:

  • Works under broad supervision.

  • May take on several components of a project.

  • Provides direction for team members.

  • Plans and manages implementation and integration of new technologies.

  • Troubleshoots problems of medium complexity and recommends appropriate action.

  • Project size could range from low to medium complexity.

  • Acts as a mentor to less senior IT staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant business analysis, process design, automation, strategic reporting, or other related practice experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Minimal to periodic travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing projects and using MS Project

  • Possesses advanced technical knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Visio
