Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Bridge Engineer to be based in Louisville, KY.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to designs, biddings, inspections, load ratings and CAD work.

  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Use specialized software and other tools, such as programming languages, to analyze data related to the design and performance of bridges.

  • Collect and review documentation related to the project.

  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Propose approach to solve new problems encountered. Identify discrepancies in results.

  • Mentor and coach junior team members, provide feedback on work, and help to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.

  • Provide guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Perform work in accordance with agreed budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

  • Automate repetitive tasks using computer programming.

  • Position requires 20% domestic travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Position requires experience with:

  1. PCs and Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel;

  2. Structural problem analysis including reinforced concrete and structural steel;

  3. Use of design and calculation tools and software; Bentley OpenBridge Designer, Bentley LEAP, Bentley Microstation, PTC Mathcad, AASHTO BrR or MIDAS;

  4. Programming languages including Python;

  5. Data analysis and task automation; and

  6. Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $76,253.00 - $112,967.00.
