Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a HSSE Site Supervisor for immediate employment in our Mexico City, Mexico office.

The HSSE Site Supervisor is a member of the Project Delivery Team reporting to HSSE Manager and will be responsible for the supporting the Construction delivery of all Build Projects, Build Programs and Dealer Projects. HSSE Site Supervisor will support the delivery of the construction project within program deadlines within a set of clear performance indicators. This role will require significant interaction with the Project Team to maintain and contribute to the seamless communications and client confidence on all project delivery progress.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • The HSSE Site Supervisor is responsible for contributing to high levels of compliance on project sites by providing clarification regarding intent and practical examples of implementation

  • The HSSE Site Supervisor’s is to increase awareness and knowledge of Safety for life and the client safety program

  • Maintains records of announcements of recipients of award and recognition programs for AECOM employees, contractors and staff

  • Audits project site to raise awareness and sensibility among project staff to hazardous conditions and unsafe practices or behaviors

  • Supports contractor use of near-miss reporting. Assists with Permit To Work process and ensures compliance to permitting procedures

  • Support incident and accident investigation process, by the collection of facts evidence, photographs, witness statements, and other information useful to the Root Cause Analysis process

  • The HSSE Site Supervisor supports the development and delivery of orientation and HSSE training for AECOM employees managed projects.

  • Help monitor contractor training programs for compliance with regulatory and AECOM and client requirements.

  • Assists HSSE Manager, Project Managers and Site Superintendents in administrating the Site Specific HSSE Plan and developing Site Specific Risk Assessments

  • The HSSE Site Supervisor will support the development and maintenance emergency plans, contingency plans, and emergency call trees for HSSE employees and contractors

  • Accompanies regulatory compliance officers and third party auditors directed by the HSSE Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or comparable Health, Safety, Security & Environmental studies

  • 8+ Years in construction and industrial safety experience or equivalent combinations training and related experience

  • Member of HSSE Industry body

  • NEBOSH/OSHA, OSHA-10 Construction Safety, OSHAS 18001-2007 Security Systems and Health , ISO 14001-2004 Environmental Systems.Expert Knowledge of construction methods and practices, local safety and environmental law and regulation

  • Expert in recognition of unsafe conditions, practices or behaviors, and to take appropriate corrective action measures.

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.

  • Ability to clearly express thoughts both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficient in use of personal computer including basic office soft applications such as: e-mail, word, processing, or accounting

  • Strong skills in written and spoken communication in English and Spanish

  • Organizational skills

  • Flexibility to work, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge on the construction market
