Job Summary

AECOM Mexico is actively seeking a creative, highly talented MEP Manager for immediate employment in Mexico City.

MEP Manager will be responsible for the administration and implementation of all phases of work related to the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) disciplines, including pre-construction, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, contract development, shop drawings & submissions, design coordination, construction & implementation, handover, testing & commissioning and contract closeout. This position will be responsible for the oversight management for projects in various sectors in Mexico.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Manage MEP Design responsible for al MEP related activities for all Mexico Projects

  • Manage both Design and Construction Management projects

  • Performance of pre-construction design review and budget analysis

  • Scheduling of all MEP trade related activities, coordinated with the overall project schedule requirements through the use of Primavera P6 or MS Project

  • Trade procurement, including the development of bid packages, bid analysis, leveling & scope review and the preparation of trade subcontracts

  • Working in conjunction with the General Project Superintendent to supervise the activities of the MEP Project Superintendents

  • Review and approval of monthly requisitions

  • Assessment of subcontractor extra work orders

  • Organize and facilitate coordination of trade installation drawings

  • Interface with the Owner and Design Consultants facilitate the timely resolution of open design issues and changes

  • Monitor and track trade requests for information (RFI’s)

  • Develop and track material, equipment and shop drawings by use or submittal schedules and material and equipment status reports

  • Conduct contractors and/or subconsultants coordination meetings

  • Create various project specific charts, checklists and tools as required to monitor and track trade progress thru all project phases to ensure schedule objectives are met and all work is performed in full compliance with the project requirements

  • Coordinate all work related to the local authorities and local utilities

  • Coordinating and supervising the activities of all the assistant MEP project managers, MEP project engineers and other related support staff

  • Assisting the project executive in working with all departments including estimating, scheduling, procurement, labor relations, finance, accounting and other services as required

  • Obtaining client’s acceptance of the work, and sign-off for the completed project

  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of the final project report, and prompt closeout of the subcontracts

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with 8+ years in design and construction of infrastructure projects of large scale and/or complexity in MEP Discipline with Construction Management experience experience in governmental projects or public works projects

  • Professional certification or equivalent card in country of origin, as undergraduate: Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer or career related to the functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in certification LEED

  • Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies

  • Strong in Project Management practice. PMI certification desirable.
