AECOM Transportation Project Engineer in Miami, Florida

Job Summary

The AECOM Highway Department is seeking a highly talented Project Engineer for immediate employment in the Miami office which supports a wide range of transportation and site development project in south Florida. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in transportation engineering, specific in roadway design.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of existing and proposed roadway designs

  • Development of design alternatives

  • Constructability reviews

  • Roadway plans reviews

  • Preparation of design variations and exceptions packages

  • QA/QC of roadway plans

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years or relevant transportation experience

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida or obtain Professional Engineer (P.E.) within 6 months

  • Knowledge of DOT plans development process

  • Knowledge of the AASHTO Greenbook Guidelines, DOT Standards, and Microstation

  • Experience in design analysis, final design and plans production of roadway projects

  • Ability to complete roadway construction plans, maintenance of traffic plans, signing and pavement marking plans and, specifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong work ethic and strong leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Florida DOT Standards

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
