Job Description

AECOM is looking for a Structural Supervisor that can be based in our Milwakee, WI office or work out of the Chicago / North Shore area.

Job Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Performs various responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.

  • Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.

  • Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.

  • Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.

  • Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.

  • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.

  • Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

  • Supervises group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid Drivers License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree a plus

  • A current P.E. license in the State of WI or able to attain reciprocity.

  • Project management skills, including proposal preparation.

  • Project experience on State DOT projects in Wisconsin and / or throughout the Chicago area and SE Wisconsin.

  • Structural Engineer with 6+ years of experience in bridge design.

  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.

  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software)
