AECOM Environmental Engineering Technician I in Miramar Beach, Florida

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Engineering Technician for employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group in our Destin, Florida office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performs routine fieldwork (such as environmental multi-media sampling) working under supervision.

  • Performs routine tasks in support of project staff.

  • Setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.

  • Position will require OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical skills and hands-on skills.

  • Experience with various media sampling (soil, groundwater, and waste.

  • Astute attention to job place health and safety.

  • Effective communication skills (verbal, field notes, etc.).

  • OSHA 40-hour Training.

Additional Information

  • This position requires frequent standing/walking, working in an environment moving and lifting heavy equipment up to 50 pounds; performing repetitive bending/stooping, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection.

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects clients are security-sensitive.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, moisture, and dryness, radiation, mineral fibers, and vibration.

  • Position will require wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, face shield, and respiratory protection.

  • Relocation is not available for this position.
