AECOM Erosion and Sediment Control Technician in Morrisville, North Carolina

Job Summary

­­­AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Erosion and Sediment Control Technician for immediate employment in the Morrisville, North Carolina office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead or participate in routine field work that involves performing Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC) and/or Stormwater Management inspections.

  • Prepare inspection results and related NPDES permit documentation and communicate with the Inspector’s supervisor.

  • Work closely with clients to communicate ESC concerns.

  • Work requires knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations specifically related to land disturbance activities, stormwater management and erosion, sediment, and turbidity control practices, and ability to interpret and apply these requirements to various situations.

  • Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations.

  • Conducts a variety of standardized tests and may prepare specimens; Sets up and operates standard laboratory testing equipment of moderate complexity.

  • Records test data and provides observation and interpretations of it.

  • Performs fieldwork, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.

  • Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field

  • Candidate will be open to working irregular work hours

  • Motivated, hardworking team player with attention to detail

  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor

  • U.S. citizenship

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Pass standard background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI)

  • Prefer Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control or Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality

  • Experience working with local and state permitting agencies
